My Reading List

NOTE: Not every idea in my own devotional reading list here can I accept—or do I agree with. But each of these (at least the ones I’ve read . . . which is most of them) contains thoughts that have inspired me and contributed something toward my own pursuit of a closer walk with God.

  • Most of these, I’ve read long ago and am either re-reading or plan to soon.
  • Others, I haven’t read yet but also intend to as soon as possible.
  • After the Bible, the list is alphabetical.

We are reading from the same library. Couple of good ones: T”he Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning. “Bold Love” and “Bold Purpose,” both by Dan Allender and Tremper Longman; they both pose a real spiritual challenge to us as Christians. (People are familiar with Allender’s psychology works, but these are more theological/spiritual.)

Thanks for the recommendations, Lorna. Unfortunately, your practice time is all over. You ARE an editor now and have been for a good while. But you are also a mother par excellence to two of my grandsons (Lorna’s my daughter, folks…proud ancestor here).
